Description

The 2008 Studio Diner Chili Cookoff is the only Chili Cookoff in California held on a working TV/Movie Lot. This San Diego based Cookoff raise thousands of dollars for the "Injured Marine Fund" at Balboa Naval Hospital in San Diego. This fund is a "Direct action fund" that has immediately flown parents, children, spouses to San Diego from across the country to be with their seriously wounded Marine undergoing treatment at the hospital.
In addition to airfare, the Fund also provides for meals and temporary shelter while the family member visits the hospital. The "Injured Marine Fund" is a Non Profit, 501 (c) ( 3) orginazation that subsists solely on generous donations of Patriotic Americans, no Government assistance is received by the charity.

General Cookoff Information

REGISTRATION FOR RED CHILI COOKS IS CLOSED!!
As of today, Tuesday July 22nd, 2008 the Studio Diner Chili Cookoff is 10 days away.
I have 21 Red Chili Cooks , 3 Verde cooks and 5 Salsa contestants. UNFORTUNATELY I can not take any more Cooks and I really probably need at least 5 Red cooks to also cook Green chili.
I just do not have the room on the lot to put more tents out there�.(I guess that is a good problem to have:)
We have a new TV show filming here now and I have no more room for all the great cook's out there.
If you have NOT received an email/phone confirmation from me stating you are accepted into our Cookoff

We plan on having a good time here Sunday August 3rd�.Gates Open at 11am�Chili should be ready after 12 noon.

Venue Comments: This private TV/Move Studio Lot has filmed numerous movies & TV shows since 1991 on it's 20 acre lot...It is located next to the Studio Diner, a Classic American 40's-50's Diner open 24 hours a day/7 days a week.
